چکیده
True ossification of the face spaces is a very rare clinical entity. We present a rare case of unilateral ossification of infratemporal space the in an 11-years old male with swelling in the right temporal and orbital area. His medical history was unremarkable. Radiographic evaluation with spiral CT scan revealed separated ossified particles inside of infratemporal space. After 2 separate procedure all bony particles were removed at operation room. Pathologic evaluation showed normal bone structure. Postoperative period was uneventful. [Ali Hossein Mesgarzadeh, Ali Mortazavi. Heterotopic Ossification around the Knee after Internal Fixation of a Complex Tibial Plateau Fracture Combined with the Use of Demineralized Bone Matrix (DBM): A Case Report
Demineralized bone matrix has been successfully commercialized as an alternative bone graft material that not only can function as filler but also as an osteoinductive graft. Numerous studies have confirmed its beneficial use in clinical practice. Heterotopic ossification after internal fixation combined with the use of demineralized bone matrix has not been widely reported. In this paper we de...

Heterotopic ossification (HO) is usually seen after-trauma, following traumatic injuries, surgeries involving major joints, neurogenic injury, and burns; however, atraumatic cases have also been reported. HO tends to cause pain, swelling, and limitation of joint movements. HO has been reported in adults as well as in pediatric cases, however, our search in the English literature has not reveale...
متن کاملHeterotopic Pancreas- an Unusual Cause of Ileoileal Intussusception: a Case Report
Heterotopic pancreas is an uncommon developmental anomaly of upper gastrointestinal tract. Heterotopic pancreas tissue is very rarely found in ileum. Intussusception in children is usually idiopathic, but definitive aetiology can be established in 90% of adult cases. We are reporting a case of pancreatic heterotopia presenting as a lead point of ileo-ileal intussusception in a 1year 3month year...

Heterotopic ossification refers to formation of lamellar bone in soft tissues. The etiology is diverse and includes genetic, post-traumatic, and metabolic causes. Elicitation of bone morphogenic proteins are thought to play a key role in the pathogenic process. Initially, heterotopic ossification presents a clinical and radiographic challenge in that it can be mistaken for other more worrisome ...
متن کاملHeterotopic Pancreas as a Leading Point of Intussusception: A Case Report
Heterotopic pancreas (HP) is generally asymptomatic and found incidentally. It can act very rarely as a leading point for intussusception. Thus, it should be considered as a differential diagnosis of the mass lesions leading to the intestinal intussusception. Herein, we report an unusual case of HP as a cause of ileocolic intussusception.
